Well… it sounds like you do commend Hamas for their resistance to the genocidal colonial occupation (complimentary, I mean this as a good thing, of course).
It might be my ND brain taking “commend” too literally, but I’d rather frame my support as acknowledging Hamas as a proper resistance movement, and doing my best to contextualize their actions when talking about them. All the shit flinging for whatever ideological divergence is better left for later.
I see where you’re coming from. I personally understand “commend” in this case to mean “acknowledge their resistance and give them credit for it” (which I see you do), but I understand what you’re saying, especially when sometimes people will see you agree with “commend” and then gladly use whatever definition they like and put it in your mouth.
An open dialogue discussing the nuances of each other’s interpretations to come to a common ground? On my political memes sub?
