The tagline was more recognizable than the title, so the titled the home release after the tagline. The sequel, if it ever makes it out of development hell, is just going straight for the home release title as “Live Die Repeat and Repeat.”
The original was called All You Need Is Kill, which also happens to be what the new animated movie is called. I always liked the weird name, but I can definitely understand needing to change it for a wider english-speakong audience.
