    Even my half-senile parents have, over the years, learnt that Microsoft disapoints over and over. Noone I speak to is excited for anything Windows or Microsoft.

    THis asshole writes this article as if consumers just dont realize how great AI is. like people will just come around to it in a few years. When in fact consumers have shown they know exactly how good it isn’t because they avoid it like the plague, even non tech people avoid it at this point.

    i’ve yet to meet anyone that wants ai shoved into everything… this shit peaked with alexa and siri answering trivia questions.

      Which, ironically, these new AI are less accurate or competent at. Gemini can’t do basic things traditional google assistant has done for a decade.

    I don’t think it’s that consumers don’t want to buy new PCs. It’s not worth to buy a new one, regardless of whatever fad is being pushed at the moment. Chip fabrication / miniaturisation has plateaued which is incompatible with infinite growth that modern capitalism was built on.

    Not buying any new hardware (except for SteamDeck) until this shit is over. I can cobble together whatever I need from old stuff in the meantime.
