Today is some more Halo. I’ve been holding off on PvP lately because my Network card has an issue where the signal just shits itself and dies every few minutes. So it really kills PvP’s momentum. We decided to just power through though and went for some social games. We obviously lost, but we did have a fun time.

We got Capture the flag on one, and while the enemy team was harassing mine, i got a spawn right next to the flag. So i just… grabbed it and ran off with it. I just kind of spent 3 minutes wandering around with the flag.

I only ran into someone else once and i got a lucky shot with the sniper and killed them after fumbling with it. I picked up the flag again and continued wandering around until i made my way back to base.

We did some private games after that, and we picked a map on Halo 3 that i can’t remember what it’s called, but it was small and really fucking purple. I really liked slayer on this one with 4 people because it was small enough it felt like you could always find someone to fight. A few maps i always feel like i can’t find anyone, which, for a PvP game, isn’t great. So this was fun.

I also did some Halo 2 for myself. I wanted a challenge so i drove a Ghost up onto the Scarab for fun. I thought it’d be a fun challenge. Obviously they didn’t intend for one to be up there though as i was glitching out like crazy on the Scarab and ended up getting crushed between it and the bridge a few times. I eventually got it though and that was fun.

That’s honestly something i like about these games, you can come up with stupid bullshit challenges like this and the game just lets you. If you can get a Ghost up there, for the most part, the game shrugs and just lets you carry on. It’s awesome.

I recently picked up MCC on Deck for the nostalgia. It’s been at least 15 years since I played the original and I don’t think I played any of the sequels.

MCC is weird on Deck - you have to install the games through the Steam DLC menu, not the “install games here like the instructions say” inside of MCC.

I was super pissed I needed a Microsoft account to play, and that the login screen glitched repeatedly, but I eventually got in.

… Single player only for me.
