The first thing they ask you when you activate BitLocker is to pick one of 3 options: Link to Microsoft Account. Save to a File Print Recovery Key (so you can write it down on a piece of paper or whatever) There’s no “railroading”. There’s plenty of real things to not like Microsoft. No need to make them up.
