Too much slop nowadays. Streaming services brought forth the age of quantity over quality and it shows. The writing is bad, the acting is bad, and the CGI is poor and overused. All of this leads to my immersion being broken. I still have love for movies. Just not for what they’re shoveling out these days.
The thing is, every now and then something interesting slips through the slop … I really enjoyed Eenie Meanie for example, it was a bit weird, didn’t really flow at all. But it was fun and different.
Yes, much like with music nowadays, you have to actively search for what is good. It’s there, but there are so many other options they drown out the good stuff.
