Gods of Egypt… I am in a winter cabin in the middle of the alps. No cable. Was not that bad.

Snowpiercer 4/5 - Got snowed in so I watched a goofy Sci-fi movie. It’s got a pretty straightforward message but has enough twists and turns to keep it interesting

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 3/5: Knuckles is a fun addition, enough to get a spin off show, apparently. I don’t love the real people and the wedding drama, just give me my speedy hedgehog

Saw V 2/5: One of the better saw movies, which is not high praise. Somehow John Kramer continues being a main character in this franchise despite dying in the first 4. The backwards justification of Hoffman is weird too. Really the 5 person trap is the strength of this movie

The Hateful 8 4/5: Still snowed in so I watched another themed movie. I remembered a lot more of this movie being about deception. I thought there was going to be multiple layers of people lying about who they are, when it mostly is just 1 layer. Very tense thoygh

Send Help 3.5/5: Raimi is one of the better horror/comedy guys out there. It’s absolutely hilarious making Rachel McAdams “frumpy” to absolutely zero success. I expected a little more horror and a little less comedy but I’m not upset with the blend

Dracula (2026) 2/5: I expect this to be devisive. It was billed as horror but was more of a drama/action movie? It kinda flows between romance, horror, and action in a very dreamlike manner. I kept trying to place it with the original Dracula but it veers just enough off course to be hard to follow but close enough that you are really sure what’s going on with the story

    Paging MargotRobbie@lemmy.world

    I watched:

    I, Tonya (2017)

    Yes, that Tonya.

May be half made up, but shows some of the behind scenes antics that I had not heard about previously.

A cast of misfits, but Tonya undeniably was an exceptional talent on the ice.

    Bob Trevino Likes It.

This is such a great movie. It is about a young adult who is saying her best to live and having to do it with absolutely zero worthwhile guidance or suport from her biological father. y chance she collides with two people dealing with some serious sadness.

I know that isnt a great way to sell this movie but holy shit it is so good and holy hell Barbie Ferreira is incredible. She kills this role. She is playing off John Leguizamo who is one of the GOAT!

Saw Send Help, which isn’t for everyone, but it’s a whole lot of fun if you’re a fan of Sam Raimi.

Also went to see The Testament of Anne Lee. I went in with limited knowledge of the Shaker movement and came out asking a whole lot of questions. It’s a decent film and it has lots of vibes, but it mostly just made me keep asking questions that I had to look up afterwards.
