Well I have signed up for Loops, the federated tiktok alternative. I signed up on Monday and haven’t still a mail about how to start, after the signup. So I’m writing this to hear from others, who have signed up for loops, whathavet you experience with the signup, have you got both mails, or are you just like me still waiting and looking for news all the time on Mastodon? Maybe we could help each other, be patience together and yir discuss loops and talk about the hopes we have for the tiktok alternative.
„Tbh, I should have delayed the loops.video countdown timer by 1 more week.
That would have given me enough time to resolve the delays we are currently facing.
I apologize, and am working diligently to get @loops into your hands ASAP!
Your patience is greatly appreciated while I work on this.
The hype is real, soon y’all will make history by participating in the first fediverse platform dedicated to short looping videos, and the first mobile only fediverse platform 🚀“
Mobile-only… I don’t think that’s as much of a flex as they think it is
And by mobile only they also mean Android only. Apparently iOS doesn’t have a client currently.
Just signed up about 2 minutes ago and havent gotten my email. I’m a patient man, but even I have my limits.
Interested to give it a shot though. Hopefully it gets sorted out soon.
I hope they managed to grab some content creators.
Yir. Anyone here gonna create? Im not Just consumer😁
I’m hoping to start. Although I still don’t really post, I comment way more on Lemmy/Mastodon than when I used Reddit, because I want the platforms to grow.
I don’t have an opinion either way on this but can we not act like corporate for profit social networks haven’t thunderously dropped the ball on this kind of thing lol
I never got the email either so I’m curious too. I’ll save this post.
Oh that’s great to know, then I’m not the only one, that’s how it feels. Specially because I don’t hear people talking about that they are signed in.
Personally, I don’t this will have much success because titok is driven by algorithms and influencers…it’s built for lazy scrolling consumers that follow the latest trends. People that use it don’t care about the data privacy or ethics of it, they just want to know what the latest song or dance craze is … Add to that ease of use to add graphics and music tracks. Also reach is everything.
I don’t think we have to expect that it will have the same success as tiktok , but a strong alternative. Sometimes I just want to consume , and there is pixelfed and probably loops a good alternative, because its not full of influencers, ads, and so on. Just like YouTube once just was people making vids, the good old times.
It’s a slow rollout. Dansup is doing his best to put a good foot forward, there’s a lot of moving parts, and it’s fairly more complicated than some of his prior work. I’m super stoked for it, and can’t wait to put together a detailed review.
