You’re getting downvoted and I suspect I’m about to join you, but when I saw the post the first thing I thought was “the guy must must be a Lemmy user” because of all the extended rant threads I’ve seen here from people getting mad at others who avoid using profanity or choose to self censor. I’m all for fighting against unnecessary enforced censorship from higher ups but it’s weird to see people get so mad at someone for just personally wanting to avoid it, using asterisks, or using less offensive substitute words for “real” profanity.
It’s just so gosh darned strange, seems like a fracked up reason to crap on someone
You are kidding, right? Maaaaaybe that’s true in this thread. But if anyone posts something with a censored swear or whatever there are absolute drives of people ‘uhm aktually you can swear in the internet!’ ‘Just say the word bro’ ‘you can say f**k’ etc.
I even saw a thread where someone posted a tweet or something that was censored, one of the random comments was itt: people complaining about the censor, and then, sure enough tons of said comments.
I don’t get why people care so much. Some people don’t like to swear, even online. So just let them use the **. You’ve already won! Nobody complains about cussing on the internet, now you are like trying to force everyone to cuss as well. It’s so weird.
Hot take: the amount of whining and bitching about the censoring is INFINITELY more annoying and insufferable than reading f*ck occasionally
I give no fucks if someone censors or not. Who the fuck do we think we are to tell people to cuss or censor? It’s none of our fucking business.
so @AzuranAurora@piefed.ca , tell me, what gives you the right to decide who cusses or who censors?
Ha! Wow, you care that much that you got downvoted that you went out of your way to find out who? That’s sad. I owe you no explanation.
ohh fuck no, i give no fucks about downvotes here, they’re no different that toilet paper and I certainly never seem to run out.
i’m genuinely curious. It seems an incredibly strange thing to oppose. Dhould make for some interesting treads, but if you’re not game, meh.
People who have ‘hot takes’ are even more annoying.

Not to mention that 9 out of 10 times it’s not the Lemmy OP censoring, they are just grabbing a meme that’s been censored elsewhere.
I think it’s finny that people on Lemmy want “more content” but then complain hardcore about minor things even in shitposts, like cropping or pixels.
I see more complaints about complainers than actual complaints. You are the problem.

Totally with you on this. The amount of complaining about inconsequential censoring is too damn high!
I’ve decided I’m going to start doing it specifically to f**k with the whiners
You’re such a d**k
“What the French; toast?”
