US soldiers in Iraq didn’t just steal with impunity and without any shame, they didn’t just fight an unjust and murderous war against an innocent population based on nothing but lies, they also ran well organized rings for child kidnapping, rape and sexual slavery for twenty years on multiple US bases.
I don’t know if the us military is ready to occupy Iran, but just off the top of my head there are several reasons we (the US as a nation) will find it more difficult than Iraq:
Iran is covered in mountains. Good luck maneuvering armor through there.
There aren’t any good staging areas. From the Turkish border to Tehran is 1000km.
Iranians will not greet us as liberators, no matter their opinion of the Ayatollah. They’ll tell us to fuck off.
Iran has a military of their own, who will be fighting on heir home turf. They also have a network to rally those Iranians who want us to fuck off.
This is a non exhaustive list but take it from this American with a passing interest in geography, invading Iran would be monumentally stupid. I think a failed invasion might be the best outcome. Like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam, all rolled into one massive clusterfuck. A “successful occupation” would probably collapse us once and for all.
The geography alone will prove problematic. And even if they lose, that doesn’t mean we win. I say we, I mean “The United States.” It will be expensive, we won’t achieve our geopolitical objectives, we’ll alienate our allies, I seriously can’t think of what is actually in it for the US.

Sounds like a Russian operation.
You misspelled Israeli
Hmmmm…
Fuck US imperialism, obviously, but these are pretty heavy claims. Got any proof ?
Here’s something
Which is already bad enough in itself
But far from the claims 2 comments above
And the ones who were too young or missed out on Iraq will soon get a chance to do the same in Iran.
I think Iran will prove somewhat more difficult in a ground invasion.
Lets hope so.

Iran seems to live in la-la land. They leave their scientists and military leaders openly vulnerable.
They won’t resist a full-on air, ground, and sea operation. Israel will get what it wants and the prince whatever his face also.

That nuclear aircraft carrier and its escort has sailed. Probably to the Red Sea under orders from the real commander.
I mean we’ll really alienate them. Y’all aren’t happy with us right now, because we’re acting a fool, but we aren’t out in the cold yet.
“Things are never so bad that they cannot be made worse.”
as is tradition, for every war.
… that the us seems keen on starting 9/10 times around the world, for some reason.
