Here’s a piece of wisdom imparted to me when I was a young sailor: If you can’t do your job when you’re tired as shit and/or drunk as fuck, you can’t do your job.
Can confirm. Offshore seismic dude, here. I’ve been hungover running the deck crane, and I’ve done technical troubleshooting drunk. And I’m pretty good at both.
When I was going through EMT training the instructor said we needed to be able to perform basic skills while reciting the ABCs.
