A technology has been developed that uses robots rather than humans to evaluate the performance of newly developed catalysts. By operating 45 times faster than manual work while also improving precision, it is expected to significantly shorten catalyst development timelines. A research team led by Dr. Ji Chan Park of the Clean Fuel Research Laboratory at the Korea Institute of Energy Research has developed a system that fully automates complex and repetitive catalyst performance evaluation experiments.

Developing new catalysts requires large-scale, repetitive experiments with frequent changes to catalyst composition and reaction conditions. Manual experiments are time-consuming and error prone. A team has automated this process and significantly increased reproducibility by employing robots to manage reagent compositions and run the repeated tests.

    Yes. So many of these threads read like Elon is stupid for trying to put humanoid robots in a factory from 1945 when he could just use a robotic arm or specialised machinery.

    No, robotic arms and specialised machinery have replaced most labour, at least when compared to total output, already. If they didn’t do that they would have been shutdown a long time ago for lack of productivity and high costs. It’s not 1945 anymore, factories have spent 80 years trying to replace workers. Humanoid robots and AI might (eventually) be the final piece, not the major piece.
