My old lady cat is very sensitive to my emotional state. If I am having a really bad depressive episode she needs to be in my lap and if that is not helping she pushes her nose under my chin or chews on my stubble.
If I am destructively ruminating she gets upset and bats at my feet and pulls on my pants cuff with her claws while angrily meowing.
One of mine will identify a panic attack before it happens and relentlessly headbutt the person. She will also babysit someone sick in bed. It’s wild because she is the least well adjusted cat we have, but she is like a nurse sometimes.
