So ive been using OSMAnd~ on F-Droid so far and im quite Happy with it :D
Sadly its UI is quite clunky and i literally could not find my Destination where i had to go to even tho ive downloaded the Entire Map of Germany -.-
Can anyone by chance recomenned me some Good Apps that wouldnt rely on MicroG or can be easily gotten from F-Droid or similiar FOSS Android Stores? :D

CoMaps is an app that focuses on user friendliness. But it might lack some “power features”.

Osmand is great when you really want to tweak your map experience. But it can be a little complicated for the occasional user.

An somewhat complete overview off apps & tools that are using OSM data can be found here: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Android_applications

If you can’t find a location/address with your OSM app, check if the data even exists on OSM. If it is not there yet, you can check out StreetComplete, which is a cool way to add, check & fix the upstream OSM data.

Just a tip for you op, I found the most reliable way to find destinations on OSM is to use GPS coordinates. And you can use something like gps-coordinates.net to turn street addresses into sets of coordinates.

Osmand has a very bad search function - or very good, it returns exactly what you look for and nothing else.

Sometimes you have to look it up somewhere else, add it to osm and be happy that the person after you can find it.

It looks nice, but is there a technical reason why every OSM based App needs me to downlad map data before using it, rather than loading it “on the fly” like Google Maps does?

which i also prefer personally tho itd do love to have something like setting up “an Instance” and then pointing it to that map data url simply instead of local device storage :P

Organic Maps was the best map for a long time, so it’s not really a surprise that CoMaps, which is the continuity of Organic Maps from the devs, without the toxic parent company, is now at the top

BTW you can download it directly from their website, or install it with Obtainium (to get auto updates) instead of F-Droid. Accrescent still lists Organic and not Co, though

CoMaps has a good UI and the map looks less cluttered, but it lacks quite a few of the features of OsmAnd like public transport routing.
