I have to use Discord Canary for that but yeah. Flatpak all the way.

You might be interested in giving Nobara Linux a try. It has a built in automated NVIDIA driver manager that you can run on first boot.
Yeah, depending on its age an NVIDIA GPU can be a non-starter. That said, I had a 2060 when I first transitioned to Linux last year and had no issues.
There are clowns in every community and they are typically the loudest ones. Sorry Linux didn’t work out for you this time around. Hardware variables are hard to account for which if I had to bet, hardware weirdness is likely to be the root of your issue.
Nobara Linux has a dedicated driver manager to automate the process of managing NVIDIA drivers. I ran a 2060 for almost a year on Nobara with no issues thanks to the manager. I’m on AMD now and forevermore.
Hell yeah! 🤜🤛
You used the driver manager to handle Nvidia drivers?
Nobara would fit your needs perfectly.
Nobara’s got you covered.
I’m running a 7800XT, FWIW.
Nobara memory leak? I’ve been using Nobara for a year and a half and have never heard of this.
Game compatibility isn’t really an issue on Linux anymore thanks to Proton.
Wouldn’t it be a distro if you package the end result and distribute it?
Discord screensharing is working on Wayland now? :O
I wouldn’t recommend dual-booting via partition. If you have a spare SATA port, just grab a small SSD and use that instead.
Nice. I hope it works out for you.
I’m a full-time Nobara daily driver since January 2024. It perfectly suits my gaming needs and also is working very well for my home audio production needs. Might have been better off with a slower moving distro for that stuff but so far so good!
What made you choose Void?
I’ve been on Linux for a year and a half now with zero downtime.
