Most are just kind persons or just attention seeking. As soon as they see any engagement, they´ll lose interest and leave.

If you self-host it, you´re actually more open to lesser vector of attack, since I really doubt you will go into building robust security solutions with your personal IP. That includes local law enforcement or criminal elements just taking your server.

You´re technically a criminal in their eyes, and hence if they decide to boost their dictatorship into looking for the people don´t like, they will have legal basis to order for the server databases and fuck you up…
