That intro was so fucking cool!
I really like how the guitars are mixed. The stereo field is really pleasant.
If I were mixing this, I’d wanna hear a little more bass, around ~50-100Hz. I might cut a few dB from the guitars around 200Hz to let the bass have some space.
I’d also prefer to hear the drums more upfront than they are. I wanna feel that kick and snare transient bursting out the speakers.
Granted, I don’t listen to a lot of this kind of music, so my tastes may not be your own. :)
The whole mix is a very nice, warm vibe. Really enjoyable. Thanks for sharing.
MuseScore is the best! I’ve come from Sibelius and Dorico, but the ease of MuseScore blows them away for most use cases.
For mixing, I regularly use several plugins from Airwindows, namely TapeHack, Distortion, Flutter2, Srsly2, among others. ChowDSP is also a great FOSS plugin developer. And while Reaper isn’t open source, its JSFX are, and so many of those are rad.
You may like to check out Ardour. I haven’t used it, but the Ardour users I’ve come across seem to be quite happy with it.
