Yes. It affirms that there’s a bunch of fan boys in here that are parroting off what they heard from other fan boys and that there is nothing from valve saying they needed the same spec to make a streaming only system work.

But that isn’t true at all, and I’ve still seen no one from valve actually claim it is true.

But that would have been in response to non streaming, where the headset handles everything. I’m talking about non streaming.

Several people around here keep claiming valve said the hardware in it was pretty much the same hardware needed for a streaming only design, but no one has actually been able to provide a source of them saying it, and it sounds like BS in a rumor mill at this point. Especially because it doesn’t make any sense.

Where do they say this? I don’t know why that much ram and processing and storage would be required for just the streaming and fov stuff.

I miss the actual old Google, where the searches wouldn’t intentionally show you a lot of things you don’t want in order to keep you searching longer for their ad revenue. The one where if you put something between “quotes” it would only show you results with those specific words, and you coul -minus a word to specifically exclude results that contained that word.

Google has been a piece of shit for like 15+ years now. They’re even making android suck.

Also, don’t get Samsung appliances. They’ve always been utter trash. Washers, dryers, fridges, and dishwashers all suck.

Few issues. One, as stated explicitly. Don’t need 6dfov. Only 3dfov. Also, your reviews are old as heck. Firmware updates have completely changed how well they work. If I screen lock in place it stays fantasticly. You’re looking at reviews and data from before firmware version 1.9.

The ram could be cut in half and the storage could drop to 16GB. Would have saved probably $350 at this point.

You vastly overestimate the amount of ram and storage and OS required for data exchange and foveated streaming.

I own xreal one pro glasses. They show that your 2nd and 4th point are non issues that can be done with extremely limited on device processing power and no cameras or extra head tracking. The xreals do a fantastic job of those.

The only issue with the xreals is that they aren’t wireless. Still fantastic for games using my steam deck, but not much of a point in using them to sit right in front of my desktop.

Fun fact: it’s definitely not going to slow. It’s about to get even worse. Unless of course the government decides to subsidize the hell out of diesel to make it cheaper.

I’d like a cheaper gutted version. I just want the dedicated wifi dongle and an ar screen with 3DfoV so I can play games from my steam deck or PC wirelessly on virtual big screen. I don’t need the device as it stands with play alone features and all the built in ram and storage and vr 6dfov or even the passthrough camera.
