Depends, what’s your smartphone and is it supported by either postmarketOS or ubports? Otherwise you most certainly can’t switch to a linux based os for your smartphone. Best course of action then would be to switch to a different Android Distribution e.g. /e/os or GrapheneOS.

I’ve seen gamerooms where the consoles have wireless dongles for controllers so that you are pretty much cordless.
