I’ve seen at least a couple times a similar trick but with payment req websites like cash app or venmo. Everything looks legit, but if you were to look closely at the url they want you to click, it is almost always routed through a server under the phisher’s control.

They may have the ‘official’ url in the link, but there’s a good chance they might be piped/redirected through a malicious server under the spammer’s control to log your keystrokes.

From what I’ve discerned, the fame; internet clout; and money got to their heads to the point they drifted from mostly impartial and helpful information to a more biased perspective, with which benefits their sponsors more than their viewers or the community as a whole.

I’d be interested in the Mooltipass, but they’ve been out of stock for over a year, saying they’re working towards a new unit. Last update I saw was about a month or two ago, saying they were ‘close’…

Yeah, there’s a 3rd-party driver called Spacenav that works pretty well. I haven’t gotten the two side buttons on my mini wireless one though.

(I wouldn’t bother with the driver from 3DConnexion as it hasn’t been touched in 10 years old)

I’m 99.999% sure it was, as it was within kubuntu using the default FF install (Canonical only provides the snapped version), and opened from either the taskbar icon or through its menu. Discover’s auto-update feature was also manually turned off. (was a system at work, so I wanted the config to be relatively basic but controllable)

I did at some point completely remove snap and switched to flatpak. Eventually though, I went with the Mozilla Team’s PPA, as the sandboxing was adding too many complications with the addons along with printing documents.

Nope. There have been multiple times where I have my browser open, in the middle of something and when I go to open a new tab/window I get a blank screen telling me I need to restart FF to continue.

I’d rather be able to use my web browser uninterrupted without it being updated while using it and be forced to restart it.

Win11 didn’t even know what to do with my Intel (of all brands) WiFi chip.

Win10, Kubuntu, and mint all detected it without needing to download and transfer the driver with my phone in order to start the updates after install.

IIRC, the 2 minutes is the bare-minimum, and intended for someone with perfect teeth and technique. Now most people (ones who aren’t perfect) use the toothbrush, their common reaction to the timer completing is they are done brushing. They don’t realize that they were likely rushing to keep up with the timer and ignoring different plaque hot spots.

I personally have a couple crowns that my previous dentist screwed up on and mis-sized the base, leaving a ledge where food and plaque get stuck in. If I don’t spend extra time around them, tatar will form like a madman. (Same issue with my lingual bar before I had it removed)

I’m alright with a timer to help keep rhythm and let you know when you hit the minimum, but don’t make it integral to using the damn brush and turn it off when it hits zero.

I’m already annoyed at the prevalence of that 2-min timer on every powered toothbrush.
