Nerd, programmer, writer. I like making things!
I hope it catches on!
Definitely agree, maybe it’s time to share Paul Ramsey’s talk on the subject again
A handful of shortcuts isn’t that hard
as in “your fork is official now, we have our own compatability in .net and there’s no need to maintain it”
The recognition is nice, but there hadn’t been a major release in over 5 years. I’d guess the outcome is mostly paperwork
Sounds like it hasn’t had any updates in half a year (with the last major version over 5 years ago) and they’re now using their own runtime that’s included in .NET. Wine already had their own fork, so what is there to maintain?
This is in unicode though? U+2042
I like it! Distinct but still simple enough that it could be easily stylized. The constellation symbolism works for me.
Ideally if it were used as an icon it would be slightly larger than the default text on a given page, though I’m not sure how well it fares on those cheap low-res laptops
I didn’t know they were planning to pivot to an open source client, neat! Especially if peppy would like to do something else, the community is massive and can help carry the work
I contributed a lot of comments to the Godot community back when posts didn’t get much interaction, I wouldn’t want those gone. I still come across my own replies when looking up errors!
I used to use the app years ago, does it still hold up? Would be nice to use if it supports rss 🤔
That’s why I like my Traveler! But the eink screen looks great at an angle so it’s not usually much of a problem once you get used to it.
Compared to the AlphaSmart? That launched at over $400 if you adjust for inflation, the only reason they’re cheap now is that schools bought them en masse to teach typing. Niche writing tools are unfortunately expensive unless economies of scale get involved
Over $1200 in today’s dollars!
It is! AlphaSmart went under a while ago so the only models available are used. Astrohaus made their own version too, but it’s about as expensive ad their other products so I’m looking forward to this.
LOL at least you can get your own fancy keycap set 😅 I wonder if the launch versions will offer labels
It’s an alternate to Astrohaus’s Freewrite device, should be a bit more competitively priced!
You can also just install the pwa right from your browser (for both teams and outlook web)
I use the La Capitaine icon pack because I agree, the default icons are pretty meh
I like this! It looks nice and the way the bottom bar goes into the background feels natural to how I use my desktop
