is there a similar contingency in the California law?
I’ve been given some equipment that recorded my breathing and heartrate (little tubes near my mouth and nose, chest strap). just check em out and return them the next day.

I seem to remember wedge was basically an inclined plane, and a screw was an inclined plane wrapped around an axle. Also a pulley is a specific application of wheel and axle.
My favorite take on the subject Internet Comment Etiquette: “The Mandela Effect”

gotcha. What about assets? Im not an accounting person, but we routinely buy tooling for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Raw materials have costs/value associated with them. How would that figure in?

this is interesting to me. can you show your work? Id be interested in going through the thought experiment as well.
I listen to mostly death metal and my wife is into musicals. Its really not an issue. I have gone with her to Book of Mormon (a musical), she has gone with me to metal shows… actually she used to get me back stage to several (she worked catering). Neither of us is going to choose to play the others music when we are by ourselves, but we can find a little common ground regardless.
Face to fist style.

soon you won’t even own your own […] home furnishings
This has been a thing for poor folks for a long time now. once they successfully wipe out the pesky middle class it will be a reality for everyone.
Regarding clothes, the low quality fast fashion makes clothes essentially disposable, so consumers don’t really own clothes anymore also.

not to mention there was a TON of variety in hunting practices as indigenous populations vary widely.
here is an interesting book about the subject (on my to read list) https://archive.org/details/ecologicalindian0000krec

Looks really slick, there are some really nice looking features shown. I do have some concerns though.
First, it requires playstore to be installed. I try to degoogle my device as much as possible so Im not sure this would even work with MicroG Services.
Second it seems like a proprietary software built on Open Source platform. Right now they claim they dont do anything with our data, but that is one policy update from, ‘actually the data we have been collecting is now actually worth something sooo…’
Lastly, as a proprietary software company they have this pesky link at the bottom of their page Pricing. Currently it doesnt link to anything, and honestly that has me more worried than if it just showed a page that said we are trying to figure out how to make money off our users, and we dont know how yet. I dont have an issue paying for software I use. There are a couple open source projects I pay monthly/yearly fees to. I just prefer it to be up front. If they said they were open sourcing the code and want a subscription fee, I would be on board. No plan is kinda sketchy.

Isn’t this a question of hubris? The title claims that “Rational People Do Worse”, but wouldn’t a rational person surmise that there is some information/mechanism they don’t have access to that the computer does in order to achieve the success rate claimed? In that case the rational choice would be to claim the single box.
The other factor not addressed is the $1k vs $1m. The calculus changes a lot based on these amounts. If it was 10 bucks vs the chance to win millions? that’s the lottery. if it were $10k it be a lot harder to walk away from that.
As a thought experiment, its a lot easier to say what you think the answer should be, actually making that choice when there is real money is psychologically different.

The fact that he tried to shoehorn in supply and demand just shows how this person is an actual conservative.
It really makes no sense especially in this era where we have fake descent on both sides generated by AI.
While I probably disagree with most of his politics, I appreciate the fact that he stands up and says Trump is a fucking crook.
They are actively against SEL which is the stupidest thing I can imagine. The only thing I could imagine worse is feeding your kids lead paint chips.

Milk based plastic was one of the first man made plastics produced back in 1890. Not 1980, 1890.

you ever been on one of those plastic lawns in the hot summer? They will blister your bare feet.
