That’s a strange way to say that you just made everything up in your previous post.

Cocksure. Look it up.

Almost the same story here, I ran nixOS on my laptop and was over my head instantly, but kept treading water for almost a year before I got tired of the quirks and went back to arch. Much as on desktop; it just works and works well.
Since bouncing off I’ve found myself using the nix package manager for my Steam Deck, allowing it to serve as the “laptop” now. It just so happens that Valve recently added a persistent /nix folder to steamOS and so I’m declaratively back at it again. Thankfully the syntax is now starting to stick.
Ah, my bad. That video felt sketchy af during my morning scroll, thanks for the correction.
Running an unofficial image of grapheneos sounds like a wonderful way to get your device hacked without having to wait for a nefarious actor to do the work manually. Buy a used Pixel and do it right.

screen_off = “qdbus org.kde.kglobalaccel /component/org_kde_powerdevil invokeShortcut ‘Turn Off Screen’” I use this on deck and the following on desktop where the monitors automatically shut off: “kscreen-doctor output.DP-2.disable” hope it helps!
You’re probably right and this is the first time I’ve felt kind of glad for the “speed bump” that picking a server on the fediverse has become. We’ll get another influx before too long; maybe a “you need to be this clever to ride the ride” checkpoint isn’t such a bad thing.

Commented elsewhere in this thread with details on persistence in steamos if you’re interested. glhf!

FYI, there is now an overlay for /etc that stores changes in /var and files can also be noted as persistent in /etc/atomic-update.conf.d.
Valve has also added a persistent /nix folder for declarative package management if you’re into that kind of thing, it has been glorious in my little world.

The problem is it isn’t Telegram, Whatsapp, or some other insecure platform that nefarious actors would rather privacy minded individuals use.

Were you to be so lucky.

Containers all the way down.
My services are all running in containers, but I’ve some work to do to catch up to your skill level. That said, the above comment is music to my ears with where I am at in the learning process just now, it just resonates. Have a good weekend!

Surprised that they didn’t link straight to Telegram.
I see they had to respond to PicoCAD 2 dropping.

It’s a “no shit” comment.
People are tired of these lazy negative takes and are letting you know that you’re putting them out there. For my part I end up deleting a fair amount of my posts/comments after I type them these days, noting internally that I am doing little more than whinging for the sake thereof; give it a whirl sometime.
Replaced a self hosted Wireguard/OVPN setup that was used to navigate corporate/public networks with Netbird a few months ago and haven’t looked back. Never having hosted Tailscale, I am impressed with the flexibility and routing an overlay VPN offers, particularly with Netbird’s management UI. The project itself seems well maintained and the team regularly adds new features, many of which I have not bothered to explore yet.
Give it a go I say.

Texas governor Greg Abbott if you’re looking to save the click.

I suspect it’ll be ignored like so much else in this hysterical market. The question is how can they spin the new metrics; creative reporting abounds.
Anyone running this that wants to comment on the stability? I am using synapse/ap on my test container and was wondering if this is worth keeping a closer eye on…
Very cool, I will absolutely give this a look, thanks!
