And yet, it must scream.

You don’t need to worry about finding a whole bag of bones. That eldritch horror will just rip all the bones right out of your body to feed its insatiable desire for more bones.
At this point, we’ve jumped all the sharks in the ocean. They’re now jumping us.

For me, Sim Earth has the coolest manual. The thing was huge, maybe 200 pages and the size of a trade paperback. It was basically a primer on planetary science and was absolutely fascinating for 12 year old me to read.
Honorable mentions to to the manuals for the Warcraft RTS games and StarCraft. Those had some great backstory and lore.

I’ll review the docs and give this a shot either this evening or tomorrow. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

Thanks for your help! It’s very much appreciated. I was thinking I might want to use this VPS for an occasional OwnCast stream and as a SyncThing target, so it sounds like I’ll need a reverse proxy. Any recommendations on something relatively easy to use? I’ve seen people mention ngnix, traefik, caddy and a few others, but I’m not sure which would integrate nicely with ESS. Also, I appreciate the heads up about the helm commands. Definitely important info to have!
I guess I’ll have to make a Matrix account elsewhere to join the support room so I can make a Matrix server of my own. 😅 Thanks for the link! Hopefully they’ll be able to help me figure out the issue.
That tracks. I’ve never actually uwu-ed before, so I didn’t know how hard to go. 😂

Sorry for the delayed response, things have been wildly busy for me.
I did configure my domains as instructed, and they do resolve to the expected IP address. I don’t have an already existing reverse proxy, so I was just following along with what the guide was telling me to do. That said, this may be the issue, because I don’t recall seeing any specific set up for the included reverse proxy and I’ve been through that guide 3 times. I haven’t configured port forwarding on my router since I’m using a Hetzner VPS for this, but I did make sure to open up the required ports on the firewall.
I’ve been trying to get this running for days, but I’ve had no luck. I follow the install instructions and when I get to the last step of actually starting the service, it fails, seemingly because there’s some issue with the config file that I can’t figure out. I was hoping this would be a good alternative for ESS Community, which I had no luck with either.

What was your secret to get it working? I’ve been trying to get it running for 2 weeks following the official guide. I’m able to create an admin user via the CLI, but when I try to go to any of the subdomains I’ve created, I either get a 404 or the TLS handshake fails to complete. The people behind ESS are very clear that they do not offer any support and I haven’t been able to find an answer to this problem anywhere.

Yeah, I get that. I’ve got my Handbrake presets and that’s that, so I don’t need to spare it a second thought.

DVDs are 480p, not 720p.

Looks like Deadline is big mad I’m using NextDNS with some as/malware blocking lists, so they’re claiming their site is being broken because of it, despite the whole thing fully loading before the error message pops up. Looks like this is a site I never need to visit again.

I use Arch, BTW.

Isn’t this the same motherfucker who pranced around on stage last year, showing off his new $10k leather jacket? Seems like he doesn’t actually have any financial concerns.

My ranking of plant based juices is as follows:
Almond and oat juice I prefer to full fat milk, which has such a gross mouth feel to me. I have no idea how I drank it as a kid. Skim milk is pretty even to almond juice in terms of flavor, but of course the almond juice is much easier on my stomach. About 2 years ago, I tried a new plant juice (or at least I think it was new, as I’d never seen it before) made from peas. That one was unfortunately vile. I can’t recommend anyone try pea juice. In my experience, it’s the only plant juice that’s significantly worse than whole milk.
In conclusion: Nut juice = skim milk > grain juice > bean juice >>>>> whole milk >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> pea juice

It is if you’re talking about a store brand, which the op was.
What a terrible day to have eyes.
