“Small-brained American” YT channel went to the uygher part of China. It’s definitely a police state. He was tailed the entire time. They are tearing down the older uygher ruins and building Disneyland equivalents for tourism. The whole history and culture is being commodified in the same way America is like “Mexicans wear sombreros LOL”. The only difference is it’s 2025. It’s definitely presented as “We are Chinese and people that weren’t Chinese lived here at some point but we’re all Chinese now”. No one answers any political questions either.
That certainly was the case for a long time. I’ve haven’t had any issues for 5+ years. Devs made it a priority.

It requires a Google account so pretty bad.
EndeavourOS is the best imo because it’s basically arch with a minimal skin on it to aide in installation etc
I’ve been using it for the better part of 5 years now with no issues. I play games, self host, work etc It’s great.
If you install paru you get access to the AUR which has everything under the sun ready to install.
Arch is plenty stable
Confirmed no issues with Bravepipe.
1·7 months agoI have some ancient desktop that accesses media on my NAS. I run Plex on the same PC no problem. Stopped running Jellyfin because of the above-mentioned issues.
“Every bit helps” not if it defeats the purpose of whatever you’re doing in the first place
Jellyfin always irrecoverably crashes for me over time. It also suffers from permissions issues where videos won’t play sometimes due to a a transcode folder being full or something like that.
I want to use it but it always breaks.
I wish there was a mobile app of the same quality as plexamp for jellyfin.

5·1 year agoI’m not a programmer but I’ve been using linux for over 20 years. It’s crazy to me that someone who develops software for a living would not just run Windows but have never meaningfully ran linux. 🤔
I have a thinkpad that runs this. It’s a great little distro.
The other guy speaks fluent Mandarin. There’s more of what I mentioned in the rest of his Uyghur videos. Plus he was detained by police and told not to film anything or talk to anyone lol. That’s totally normal I guess.
