I’ve taken calls on my pinephone and postmarketos phones (pixel 3a / oneplus 6). Twas fine… actually i have used it to make a clear calls in a pinch.

edit - i use a fairly modified arctic fuse skin. The onyl thing that loads slow… is my 2k iptv channels…

It’s not without some flaws (much of which really doesn’t bother me and I low-key find them as a feature), I really love this jank Chinese 2 in 1 I picked up. P8 mini laptop. I will say there are alternatives that have a better non swiveling screen… I would go for one of those as I feel like it’s going to be problematic long-term

As much as I expect the down votes… But this is why I like beeper. It’s a good catch all for unsavvy folk. Easier login with having other major chatting apps. (Self hosting is available and self hosted bridges are on dock this year…)

For what it’s worth… It works a lot better for me as a flatpak… I couldn’t even get it to open installing otherwise

Fam, people are insanely petty… I frequent the pinephone channel rooms and I can almost predict when someone is about to post some toxic(sometimes illegal) shit there. All because someone didn’t read and or doesn’t have enough base Linux experience for such a janky phone and they’re butt-hurt over their investment. Bless text only clients.

So… It’s not without it’s challenges and I obviously cannot speak to how long it will last (particularly the hinge seems like it might long term be an issue), but I really love my p8 mini laptop. It’s a small 2 in 1 laptop that comes with a stylus, meets your price point and runs Linux pretty well. It has some quirkiness … Like when you boot the login screen is a blank screen until you close the lid to suspend and reopen. But otherwise is fairly peppy, and the pen works great. I’m using endeavoros with plasma but have just switched to sway. The latter greatly improves battery life. My biggest complaint is the placement of Q and Tab as well as / and .
