I usually set up an alias or script to update everything on my system. For example, on Ubuntu, I would do this: alias sysup='snap refresh && apt update && apt upgrade'

And on Arch, I do this: alias sysup ='flatpak update && paru'

Funny enough you’d need to use sudo to run this on Ubuntu, but not in the Arch example because paru being neat

Ubuntu has official Microsoft AD support and allows domain joining during setup. There are downsides to Ubuntu as well, though, so if that’s not an acceptable answer just know support exists and can likely be ported to anything with some effort.

I think for most privacy nuts it comes down to “I don’t trust them and it’s closed source. They could be hiding anything in that code.”

And then there’s the people who can’t afford or won’t spend the money it takes to have an enjoyable Apple experience. It genuinely costs multiple thousands of dollars to get into the Apple ecosystem and then it’s massively painful to get out. It’s basically just “corporation bad” because corporations are bad. The only way to be truly private is to not carry a phone at all and use only FOSS solutions.

Considering all of my theming and several of my apps have broken today, and that I’ve had two crashes… I’m glad they took longer.

I use Arch with KDE. I don’t recommend Manjaro because it has historically had some serious problems, so for people who want Arch without as much hassle, I’m recommending EndeavourOS. It’s what Manjaro should be like.
