If any of this has changed significantly in the market he’s explicitly talking about (North America), then I can see your frustration. But I don’t think it’s gotten much better, especially not in the USA.
A big part of the video, if you get around to watching it is about how plastic recycling is objectively something born from an industry scam. It’s a scam because they knew the recycling couldn’t work how they were promising it would, and they pushed it anyways to evade accountability.
Some countries surely handle things better than North America, but that doesn’t automatically make plastic recycling a completely legitimate venture that isn’t laden with deception and and bullshit. I’m Canadian, and I know we don’t handle recycling in the best way. Do I still sort my trash, and recycle everything I’m able to? Of course! Anything is better than nothing, and Rollie explicitly says so in the video…
