Why ? I keet hearing “systemd bad” for years now. But I never saw any convincing arguments. Not saying that rejecting systemd is wrong but why would I ? I have been using Linux since 2004 to give you an idea of where am coming from.

The more I think about it the more I think you are right.

I use Kube everyday for work but I would recomend you to not use it. It’s complicated to answer problems you don’t care about. How about docker swarm, or podman services ?

Here is some of them (they are all intermitent) :

• Wrong sensitivity with the mouse
• wrong tiling of my windows with multiple screens, (like I do a full screen and the window will disapear or occupy half of the bottom of the screen for example.
• black screen after coming out of sleep
• some gtk applicatipn have random widgets not working (but some do in the same window/frame…)
• sometimes when I try to share my screen with a native wayland app it just goes to black (and sharing with an X app I have to select two times what I want to share on top of in the app)
• sometimes sub menus are just misplaced
• some of my appimages gets broken with wayland
• some x apps are blurry

I forget a lot, but it’s a lot of minor issues that piles up and gets frustrating

I have a shitload of bug/weird behavior with Wayland, I hope it gets better but for me it is not there yet.

At least they helped me prove how crappy they are 👍

Tried a few weeks ago. They wanted my card to check that I am not a bot (I am fine with that), the 0usd transaction succeeded but then I got an error message.

They refused my visa during the onboarding, a bit surprising

I haven’t check in a while but I think I remember that proprietary app either do not have security audits or they failed them. You should check though I am not 100% sure.
