So if each planet has 10 billion people that’s 40 million senators. That room was big but I’m not sure it was that big. And also that’s one Jedi for every 40 trillion people? What good would that do even in the best case scenario?

The polite thing to do in this instance is to get on her level by pounding your own set of shots.
I use Excel to calculate the ages of the oldest rocks in the Solar System. If I was using it to find accounting loopholes for a private equity firm, I’d probably kill myself.
Ted’s problem is that he equates the tools and the processes of post-industrial society with its people. Just because the possibility exists for these surrogate activities to replace meaningful work doesn’t mean we all succumb automatically.

Came here for this comment. The image is suspiciously free of smokestacks.
I’d love to watch these geniuses try to “innovate” their way out of cleaning toilets.
It’s a “sciency” meme that presents a bunch of nonsense. I will not chill.

Who would have thought putting all that lead in the environment would have such far-reaching consequences?

We laugh, but this was an actual product.

I would do the exact middle of the neck.
Man, David Harvey really went off the deep end huh

Unrealistic though because most people who ride horses aren’t as cool as Subcomandante Marcos
The sign translates to “buffet”. Cafe is “kávézó”

Not always, usually it’s an evolutionary arms race though. Recent paper I thought was really cool suggests the initial jump from single to multicellular happened because of a snowball Earth which changed the water temperature and therefore viscosity, making larger size equate to more efficient swimming.

The problem is that we offloaded “world leadership” to a bunch of ultra-rich sociopaths who only care about their own profit maximization. And they then made actual profit obsolete, since the only product they produce now is hype in the service of inflationary speculative assets. From a planetary perspective it looks like the human species is committing suicide.

Don’t fall for the clickbait reporting here. Musk has a history of making comically exaggerated claims. There won’t be a million satellites just like there wasn’t a 4000 km/h train, self-driving tunnel network, intercontinental rocket transport or Mars colony.
That doesn’t mean these numbers make any sense.
