I mean, I had a mainline kernel update bork my system last month
Is it really a spoiler if it’s been 5 years?
Yeah but they’re “special people,” not subject to the same rules as the peons, even though they’d be tossed aside for private security should shit go down. God dammit lol
Yup, cause, once again, fuck the people.
Ironic that cops love facial recognition when it’s not pointed at them, but all of a sudden it’s an issue when they’re subject to it.
What hardware are you running your truenas setup on? I have an old computer that I’ve had freenas on that finally died.
Timeshift has been huge for this
Question if you don’t mind: is it theoretically possible to use syncthing on the root directory of a given arch install, somehow blacklist hardware specific components, and basically have a running clone between both systems? I’ve never heard of syncthing before this but it sounds intriguing
Or nullifies their existence in my own happy world

Dude in the thumbnail looks like an un-and-coming Bond villain.
There’s always Fedora as well
I got a X1 carbon gen 10 last year, and despite all the Lenovo hate, it’s been a great laptop running EndeavourOS. I opted for the 512gb as the price for the 2tb drive was ridiculous, so I bought a WD Black 2tb and swapped it myself. The bottom plate takes a few min to figure out, but it isn’t terrible.
I use Zelle almost exclusively for my business and I have never had an issue with it.
Yeah that’s fair, I was of the mind of the hope that we the people could possibly shift things in our direction.
The biggest hurdle in all of this is that everything is set up in a way that the most affordable and convenient options are often the worst as far as privacy, Amazon being the biggest example, groceries being another. It takes an extraordinary amount of diligence (and let’s be real, income) to be able to side skirt corporate dominance in the goods market. Services like utilities and often house are pretty much fucked unless you can manage to move somewhere more off the grid.
A good first step would be to require all companies to make their mobile websites mirror the functionality of their app so we didn’t have to install so many fucking data vacuums on our phones
I’ve definitely notice weirdness with odt files, but truth be told I damn never run into those, everything is xlsx, docx, etc as I’m interfacing with companies that are firmly MS, but they’re also none the wiser usually. Every now and again there’ll be a formatting issue, especially with Excel, but it isn’t too common thankfully.
Endeavour is fantastic. I’ve been using Arch since high school, but hung it up for a few years until last year when I’d had enough of Windows’ shit. EOS takes the PITA out of the install process (I just don’t have the time these days to dig as deep as I used to), but is the same Arch experience in usage.
