  • No, I actually loved her at first. Then it turned out she only ever wanted me for money. Said she’d kill herself if I didn’t buy her things, threatened to divorce when we had disagreements, etc.

We had 50 baby strollers in less than 2 years. She had over 20 expensive jackets and coats in one winter, etc.

In the end it became kind of an inside joke how much cheaper a prostitute would be. Prostitute would probably have more feelings too. My ex doesn’t actually see other people as human, but rather tools to survive.

I now drive a rusty old car. If I meet someone, they won’t think I have money. It’s better that way. Anyone can fake being a nice person at first. But if I don’t give them reason to do it, I’m hoping they won’t.

  • The guys in these romance movies also tend to be fairly handsome and charming. The rejections are more often because the woman has had bad experiences with men and is careful. Or something else like that. Or maybe she’s got an abusive boyfriend she hasn’t left yet. Whereas in real life it’s entirely possible to just not be that person’s type.

  • I’ve seen all kinds of shit, most of it when I was a teen, prolly about 14-15 and I’ve forgotten most of it

But the one video title I’ll never forget was a fair bit later, when we were watching vids on /r/watchpeopledie to kill time at work: “Unnecessarily slow beheading”. The title just felt like a joke about the very gruesome beheading.

Tbf you need to live like a Soviet era Russian to break free of the shackles of capitalism (as much as you can as a salaried person, anyway - we’ll never be completely free). If you want to sustain capitalism, buy as much as you can, and the capitalists are being sustained lol

  • Keep in mind that in Estonia the 28 days of vacation is calendar days not workdays so with a 5 day workweek you lose 8 of them.

And the 40 listed there includes holidays, usually when talking about vacation time, people don’t count that I think. Also if a holiday is on the weekend you don’t get a day off on Friday to compensate. You just lose that holiday.
