It’s not even the most corrupt country in the world at this moment, let alone in history. No need for hyperbole, the reality is bad enough.

Does no one else notice how odd it is, that someone who was trained to be a soldier and has all the advantages of terrain, weapons, and surprise was taken out by a couple of cops with pistols?
I mean, all credit to Jeff Smith and his partner who responded with courage, skill, and determination, but I hope the rest of the Canadian armed forces are better than this guy. Who knows when we will have to repel an invasion from the south!

…and I can prove it!

Given the government of Quebec’s recent upgrade of their driver’s license website, costing $1.1 billion, with a similar amount expected for their upgraded health services portal, I’m not sure we can define that as the right choice.

Quebec is the only province that allows you to leave directives ahead of time. You can specify that if you have dementia and are no longer aware of the world around you, you can end your life.

I’d like to believe that, but I can’t see it happening.
Of course, there is a tractor company in Alberta, Canada that is making old school tractors without all the bells and whistles, and selling them for a fraction of what John Deere charges.
So maybe…

There was a German general on the Eastern front who refused to pass on the orders to exterminate all partisans and communists (i.e. Jews) from the territory they occupied. He refused, and was not disciplined.

Check out CloudFlare tunnels. I created a list of e-mails, and only the people who enter the confirmation code sent to those emails get into my home server.

Not to mention that the United States allows dairy Farmers to use growth hormones that can pass into the milk. Apparently, American use of these hormones has dropped, but it is still permitted.
Here is a good explanation of that and other differences between Canadian and American dairy: https://albertamilk.com/ask-dairy-farmer/difference-canadian-american-milk/
Introductory French by Language Transfer, the best language learning system you’ll ever find (and it’s free too!)

And it would burden Canada with a share of your $40 trillion debt. No thank you.
Language Transfer is great for this. Best language learning system I’ve ever used! Explicit emphasis on NOT memorizing.
Completely free, too.
That expectation was never true for the whole Japanese economy (and referred to large corporations, not the small companies that did most of the work on contract), and is even less true now.

I assume you’re talking about heart alcohol, because beer and wine are sold inconvenience stores and everywhere else.

Those certainly were appalling and destructive events. But why give them some special status over other bombing raids like the March 9 fire bombing of Tokyo, which also killed over 100,000 people in one night? Dropping 1 bomb vs. dropping 1,600 tons of conventional bombs in 3 hours?
Vehicles are much more complicated than alcohol, though. There are assembly plants and parts suppliers on both sides of the border, and there is a transfer back and forth about six times in the production of a single vehicle. There is no way that Canada could simply ban American vehicles without jeopardizing our parts manufacturers as well.
My mistake was only watching the final game live. Turned out to be a real snoozefest, with very, very few even mildly exciting moments.
How bad was it? Spain had 12 shots on net. Argentina had 0. Zero.
I think that any other game in the tournament would have been better to watch.

It sure sounds like you have never lived anywhere else in your life, certainly not anywhere in the developing world. It’s hard to conceive how much worse life is in a lot of places, unless you have lived there. Granted that people who can afford international student fees are in the upper class of most poor countries, but it doesn’t take away from the very real increase in the standard of living.

My only meeting was that the “they” who revolutionized gaming are not the same people who are in the company now. I have no doubt that they are absolutely top-tier game developers.
It’s more nuanced than that. The current government, which may have been voted out by the time you read this, is conservative and not separatist, but has governed extremely badly. More than $1 billion spent on a website to renew driver’s licenses. Laws that are clearly designed to limit the visibility and public participation of muslims.
The Liberals were the government before that, and even for Quebec they were famously corrupt.
The Parti Quebecois, although they are separatists, has made real differences in the social fabric of the province:
So what does that leave us? The Canadian Party of Quebec that is even more right wing than the conservatives? Québec Solidaire, who are also separatist?
