Five. Six if you count Adam Smith
Five. Six if you count Adam Smith
But he never worked a typical proletarian job
So that’s why he never worked, I see
Chill down! You sound almost like a Taurus!

The meme is about US imperialism versus (supposedly) Chinese imperialism. And the election is over, not every meme is about that anymore.

Once you talk about “both teams”, you imply there are only two instead of supporting those who to this day resist all states
Pretty sure some other monkey did tho

I was about the fully agree with you and still upvoted your comment but their perspective on climate politics is very techno optimistic and actively anti-degrowth and against trying out new ways to organize our society. It’s one thing to focus on technological solutions but they also talk against other ways to solve things. Watch the video in my first comment for a deep dive into it.

For me, Longtermism doesn’t just mean thinking about long term consequences but it implies not caring about today’s problems like climate change and poverty because the needs of the future generations outweigh the needs of our generation. I come from a perspective of “building the new in the shell of the old” and achieving long terms goals that way which is the opposite of Longtermism.

Honestly, kurzgesagt is techno optimistic and longtermism and so is that video. That’s not solarpunk. But take it from a long but worth it video essay.

For me it feels complete as it is, that said I would totally read a third part ;)

Series as in there are two, or is there a third one already?

Time is money. If you work 2 jobs to provide for your kids alone, good luck finding the time and headspace to not worry about anything.
Parks and forests aren’t evenly distributed. Not everyone can afford living near one or going there.

I don’t disagree, just a quite reminder that not everyone can afford this. The meme doesn’t say it but it gives “money doesn’t buy happiness” vibes and while this isn’t false, a certain amount of money is required for this.
“Oh, this guy again. I have all the paper work ready”
Ackshually this has nothing to do with the meme which is about eco location as in they “see” perfectly at night
It doesn’t reference to anything, I’m just fooling around. But to enter serious mode: It doesn’t matter how many economists worked a proletarian job. The point is that Marx made statements about the proletariat without experiencing it or doing field studies. Neither did I btw but Simone Weil wrote a great critique of Marx. For example Marx thought that the most oppressed are the ones most likely to begin a revolution which is wrong. The most exploited don’t have the energy to do anything after work. This doesn’t destroy the Marxist framework, obviously. Later Marxists made up for this, like the Marxist feminism which also rectified that Marx only had men in mind. There are eco Marxists applying the framework to a topic, neither him nor his contemporaries had in mind.
To position myself: I’m not a Marxist but I find myself aligning with some Marxists more than others. I’m a huge fan of John the Duncan for example.
