Was about to say that’s the kinda thing you’d see on a xkcd comic, while forgetting that this is a one of them

I don’t have a link either, but i’d check Kitboga’s channel, he is usually screwing around with scammers in insane ways
That’s the best part, no batteries needed, it just needs to suck away a significant portion of your brain energy, you won’t need it either way.
*insert it’s free real estate meme here*

Been using it since the alpha came out, absolutely love what they’ve done with the app. The installation flow is much smoother with the instant prompt for confirmation, the more granular categories and improved search make browsing so much better. I tried other stores before, but I couldn’t get myself to like any of the actively maintained ones, v2.0 is good for me.

religiously scanning everything
I love and hate this feature from the prime games. It makes an amazing way to give you the lore and setting the ambient, but it is so annoying to have the scan visor constantly on and worrying about missing a one-time scan I didn’t have time to check because I was trying to survive.

I played through the whole trilogy recently and I can confirm, while the light/dark worlds gimmick of MP2 is quite cool, it’s a pain in the ass, mostly in the early game. Good luck finding those keys, I recall I had to use a guide for one or two of them because of how weirdly it was hidden.
If you can play Prime 3 be sure to do so, it neatly rounds up the story across the previous games and has some good gameplay changes that make it more enjoyable (not having a gazillion weapons and visors for one example).
“What does it say then?”
“You’ll go through a big change in how alive you are…”

(Note: I’ve not watched the video yet, but this is what I think of common hate towards every project mentioned)
systemd hate is just “fans” of the UNIX philosophy complaining that “it does too many things to get it right”, while they follow a flawed philosophy and also fail to separate systemd the init and systemd the project.
Wayland hate is just silly, yeah it’s not the same as X, but it’s getting there while still avoiding becoming a total mess of software. Same with flatpak.
Ubuntu and snap hate is deserved because of how canonical is steering those projects.
GNOME hate though… I can totally understand the dislike for it. It can force too many opinions onto its users with not much choice, but thats kinda its thing, having a simple and consistent desktop experience. I kinda like their approach to a usable desktop.

Yeah, they do all have that good-ish looks LLMs generate but are constantly buggy. I remember playing the Puzzle bundle one and quite a few of them weren’t even working properly.
Some issues have insisted on them adding a disclosure on AI usage, let’s hope it does for clarity. But yeah devs just pushing random AI-slop apps all the time seems to be starting to become an issue on f-droid
Watch him play and wait for them to have a shitty teammate, which seems pretty common. My sister plays Wild Rift (LoL on mobile, but should be similar on desktop) and it just takes that to bring out the good ol’ LoL toxicity.
Didn’t get the semaphore part and thought those were fans with a wind speed sensor below, glad there’s explainxkcd lol.
Using fans would make for a far worse connection than the one on the comic, at least that one is easily full duplex and somewhat free of interference.
… I haven’t found one that works well with dialog, fixed sized, or modal windows well enough to not get annoying,
This so, so much. I:ve been on Sway (and i3 before) for a long time and this is such a pain in the ass.
Most gui programs that do more than a simple window just don’t work well with them, dialogs filling up half your screen because of tiling, programs with detachable panels that turn into windows cannot be attached again because the main window doesn’t detect it (puddletag is an example I’ve came across recently).
I know I can setup some rules to make the windows float or have the correct behavior, but it’s just too much to fix every single broken dialog I encounter.

Manjaro once again demonstrating they’re not a serious distro/project, hahaha

Also plastic clips on laptops, monitors or any small electronic, pretty much every time I open up something with those clips one of them just snaps apart.
Thanks for reminding me of this
Also bonus animation of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrXT3OIMQfE
Just looked it up, seems like Improve YouTube already does pretty much the same things as unhook (hiding unwanted sections, redirecting home to another page)
true, I currently have about 5 or 6 extensions to keep that crap usable.
Ublockorigin for ads, improve YouTube for misc enhancements (block shorts, delete button on playlists, codec options), hyperchat to optimize the slow chat on live streams, that no translation extension, sponsorblock to skip in-video ads and identify sponsored content. Theres also dearrow but I disable it for performance reasons.
On mobile it not better, but Morphe fixes all of those quirks too.
Just amazing how shitty a service can get, but shareholder value shall rise infinitely I guess
That’s where the bad day is coming from, it’s just offscreen
Was wondering the same, had to come to the comments to know.
Only to look again and see ROBTOP right on the middle of the last panel
You’d think by now I’d remember how my Lemmy app shows the play button on videos, and you would be so, so wrong lol
