It’s a joke. Their real method nowadays is just asking AI to generate bug free code and then using it without any validation

Man, that article is so on point. Props to Mark Warren. I already complained about amplifying single people’s opinions but this is so perfect. Calling out an AI pilled C-suite for just falling in line with other AI-pilled C-suites cutting actual people right and left

Crap, here I was thinking they used a Nintendo Powerglove and a Virtual Boy

Just pick one and start. People like to nitpick distros but they’re more similar than not usually. You really won’t be able to appreciate the nuances between the distros until you run into a specific thing, if you ever do.
Personally, I and most of my friends run Linux Mint. It’s based on Ubuntu but strips away a few of their more stupid commercial decisions (the ones everyone calls it shit for). It’s got wide support both directly and because most Ubuntu advice/commands work out of the box. And it’s desktop and use feels similar to Windows so the transition is easier.

Hey, when you become king and start fixing things, this peasant asks that you get all those stupid mailers that fill up my mailbox daily banned too. Especially since you’re fixing one form of mail already

Yeah, I don’t know how much you know about electronics but usually you want inductors pointing every which way so they don’t magnetically couple, but looking at the circuit and the tolerance on the entire thing I guess it’s fine, this saves a little space.
I usually play in speaker crossover land (exact same concepts and circuits, low pass filter, high pass filter, etc) and get a little OCD sometimes.

Any particular reason you didn’t lay the third ring flat to reduce coupling between all three?

I’m one of the ones who’s been arguing letting their skill go was insane.
And even Fallout 4 was over 11 years ago. Still a very different time and company then.

Oh absolutely, even if they switched every game to Unreal 5/6 (please don’t Microsoft) just having a competent team develop engine tooling and support would be invaluable and id tech showed that competency
It’s a bash command that generates a random number. If that number divides by six with no remainder then it deletes everything on the server, if not it prints “lucky boy”. “Prod” servers are production servers, the ones the actual business runs on, as opposed to test or dev servers which are often deleted and rebuilt as developers to see if things work or not.
This is Russian roulette for IT people to see if they destroy the running server or not

I’m on the side of this was an insane move by Microsoft that they’ll regret, but that’s not a great argument.
This isn’t the same id software that did those things. This is an id software that has only released sequels rehashing mechanics with no original new IP since 2010. This is an id software who’s engine has direct competitors with similar tech.
Now sure they’re a vast, highly competent workforce with strong technological knowledge and passion and great systems, and still insane skill, but they’re a different company now than the revolutionaries you’re talking about.
And you’re assuming what they have growing.
In my “overgrown” backyard I’ve only got native wildflowers (which can actually reduce risk of severe wildfire compared to all the grass that just dries up around me).
Why? Unless it’s growing into the neighbour’s yard it shouldn’t matter, and if it is growing in the neighbour can clip it back. Let the “weeds” bloom and nourish butterflies and bees. Let the thickets go and house a rabbit. Let the trees get scraggly and house more diverse birds.
Why should the people trying to mimic English royalty by perpetuating laws established as hidden racism get to say what a yard looks like?

Don’t get me wrong, this wasn’t meant to be taken as an attack on Romero as a person. I mean as a guy I actually like him. His map sale with proceeds for Ukraine was a great move and I loved it.
Even my comment about him not being relevant, he doesn’t need to be relevant. He made his mark and it was great there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that being it.
As an industry and even economy as a whole though, we focus on this myth of the individual and amplify specific people way too much. I don’t know why this article is the one that got to me because really his comments are valid, leaving a company after pouring yourself into it can be insanely hard. For some reason it just felt like a micro representation of the problem.
People hold up Musk as a genius and amplify his words and ignore every engineer actually doing the math to launch ships for SpaceX. Molyneux gets held up as a creative genius for FABLE (well, did, his image is slipping these days) but ignores all the work done by Shaw, Elfman (still love that’s his actual name), Yarwood-Lovett and the rest.
I dunno. It just got to me. Like I said could have been in a bad mood and not trying to bash Romero.

I might just be in a bad mood today but I feel this entire article is part of the problem. The way I see it this is a guy who hasn’t been relevant in ages is still getting his words amplified about a studio that can’t do anything new since 2010 being shut down by a company that owns too much.
Like every industry it seems all the money has been rolled into a few gargantuan beast umbrella companies and they smother out new and creative things with endless rehashes of the same old same old and they keep the same figureheads who might have been creative at one point on a pedestal for worship long after they should be in charge to feed an impossible infinite growth.
I don’t know exactly. The things I saw from EtymologyNerd tracked more of their movement, he might have other videos diving into their use you could go look for
A lot of modern slang started on right wing sections of 4Chan and is full of Jewish words intentionally used as code to make fun of them. EtymologyNerd on YouTube has talked about the right leaning origin of slang some

Second sentence is literally the GOG rep stating is part of their culture. The reply is the dev explicitly stating they avoided several of the runes sent because of the connotations. Comments are full of people pointing out that they did not use the rune they claimed they did based on the Unicode and pointing out that in history using the double rune has had no meaning.
The developers also pointed out in a different spot they changed their logo because the old one had connotations they wanted to avoid but that GOG used the old one, despite having the new less problematic one.
Nothing GOG said passes the sniff test.
That’s the girl from Pragmata isn’t it? Doesn’t scream AI to me
You do however have to be a terrible person to get that rich
