i got a used thinkpad with nvidia t1000 about a year ago. i installed kubuntu on it, chose the proprietary driver from the driver manager thingy and rebooted.
i forget the driver is even a thing. it switches to it automatically when i start a game, and it uses intel igpu when on battery. not a single issue yet and I’ve used it almost daily.

I’ve been using linux with 4k120 tv with amd gpu for about half a year. dp to hdmi 2.1 cable works without issues.

recently tried every single one there and none worked. most of them would not load the show i tried to see and the ones that would load up, showed some completely random video.

5 was the only one i ever tried, and the camera angle was too much. couldn’t see shit. very narrow fov and can’t see past the character…

get a portable ac, even a used (working) one is better than nothing. just seal the exhaust in a window well enough. i live in one of the coldest countries but even i can’t survive the summer without two of those
