  • Always with the whataboustism.

    Alright, let’s play.

A guy who hasn’t been in charge of anything of consequence in a decade once did a thing where he raised his arm.

Whatabout ICE murdering people. Whatabout violating the constitution and trying to get rid of right of citizenship. Whatabout violation of the constitution about detainment without cause. Whatbout pulling aid from organizations that kept children alive, causing their deaths. Whatbout violating arms length financial dealing rules. Whatabout deragulating climate policies and making the world objectively fucking worse. Whatbout starting a war that was settled before someone had to put their eensy mushroom stamp on it and caused a global financial meltdown. Whatbout the fucking rapes. Whatabout the fucking cons and grifts.

But yeah… Obama raised his arm…

I could go on for hours whatabouting.

Instead I will say everyone in that administration is a garbage human being supporting a garbage human being and anyone who thinks they are OK or handwaves away their atrocities is also a garbage human being.

They all deserve to burn in the hell they claim to believe in.

Edit: I will also add, anyone who tries to whatabout away atrocities is also a garbage human being.

  • Man, your resume must be exhausting. Two weeks ago you were an expert on TV production finance and OSFI regulations. Today you’re suddenly an auditor of national fiber telecom infrastructure.

You spent two whole paragraphs confidently claiming Canada has no east-west data routes, only to get humiliated by someone who literally maintained them for a living. And right on cue, you scramble with “well, the sales department told a bank I totally audited…”

It’s the exact same move every time. You cook up bizarre doom porn—ATMs shutting down, cow-ebola bio-warfare, immigrants lining up to welcome an invasion—and the second someone with actual real-world knowledge checks you on the facts, you start backpedaling and claiming you have secret insider experience. Nobody is buying it.

Edit: Oh, and I still can’t believe you compared indigenous TV programming to porn. Holy fuck…

  • I actually have read the book, and the book doesn’t say or even imply that cats think of us as cats.

Please note that I did not mean to imply cats do not know us from them.

Fair. But there is a lot of nonsense around that subject on the Internet because people misinterpret what it says. Even in the article you linked, they ask that question and he corrects them.

In the book [I say] that cats behave toward us in a way that’s indistinguishable from [how] they would act toward other cats.

Specifically that. Because dogs operate in unit groups and they recognize a hierarchy. Cats, even in social groups do not have a hierarchy and treat us as members of their colony. They socialize with us as such, but in an equal but different capacity. That’s misinterpreted a lot.

I apologize for assuming that was the point you were trying to make.

I don’t believe this. Our cats will watch a cat on TV, but not a human. Our cats act differently to my wife and I than they do each other.

Cats have powerful senses of smell and use it for identification. We do not smell like cats.

Cats demonstrate competitive bonding with each other, but not with humans.

Cats use different vocalizations with humans than other cats.

Cats will observe human facial expressions rather than body language. They recognize we communicate with our face, not body.

All kinds of things. Cats may not know what we are, know we are potential allies (for the most part), but they also know we are not cats.

  • I pointed out recently that Carney is a man of deliberate words. Some things were said after by him that made me think this was coming and what it really means

not looking to become a member of the European Union

That could mean it wouldn’t be happening, or it could mean that the EU is initiating, not us.

He didn’t say we would not accept a membership, he said we were not seeking one.

He said that he is seeking a special relationship with the EU. Well, if the EU wants Canada as a member in some capacity, and asks and Carney negotiates, then he got what he said he wanted, while the WSJ still telling the truth. Since “associate membership” is not yet a real thing, it could be left to Carney to decide.

Again… a man of deliberate words.

  • “And is that worth one man’s ass being chapped?”

You really think finding a joke funny means endorsing the summit? Are you twelve?

I’m on the left. I think courting sovereign wealth funds and pitching infrastructure to foreign capital is textbook Bay Street garbage. But unlike you, I have the emotional bandwidth to understand that systemic economic critique doesn’t require walking around with a permanent stick up my ass, scolding anyone who dares to laugh at the CPC eating shit. You act like having a sense of humor forfeits your principles. Life must be utterly exhausting inside that miserable little purity bubble.
