It requires a malicious network operator, or preexisting malware on the host.
I’ve had Fedora on a Thinkpad X300, Thinkpad T420 (what I’m typing on right now), and Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 GA402RK. The last has a Mediatek MT7922, unlike the prior 2 with Intel wireless – and they all have worked flawlessly.
I keep a small Win11 partition on my 2022 gaming laptop in case I need to take a cert exam or use a gov website, and I booted it for updating for the first time in 6 months. It took over 6 hours and 6 reboots to update! At one point, it was going bu-ding every minute from random notifications so I had to mute it.
Meanwhile, my 2012 Thinkpad T420 needed a full Fedora version upgrade, and that finished in 15 minutes.
No wonder MS is losing users
For myself, I make sure I’ve done my due diligence before I might accuse someone of dishonesty, rather than making a minimum effort.

I’ve burned out on LKML and many many other parts of the FOSS world. It’s exhausting. As such, I will not be working on Linux for asus device. It’s not something I can devote huge chunks of time to for free anymore.

What’s wrong with original Syncthing? Why would anyone use a fork?
I’m in the last chapter of Sea of Stars. It’s been decent. I like the pixel art, and the combat loops were challenging enough without being a grind. The plot for the first 2/3 of the game was fairly cutesy but bland. I’m basically grabbing the last few unlockable skills and items before going to the final boss, and I doubt I will try the post-finish addon content.
I think next I’m going to try… The Witcher 3. I’ve tried to start this game multiple times on PC, modding it and everything. I like the books, played the first two games, but these days I have no interest in sitting at my desk (where I work) in my off hours - I like laying on the couch playing my Switch Lite.
There’s a huge difference between a piece of data being recorded in a SIEM somewhere and the data being displayed up front all of the time for micro managers to pounce on.
LazyLibrarian is fantastic for ebooks. Basically useless for audiobooks. I’ve found the entire *arr stack seems ill suited for audiobooks.
I’m generally pretty happy with LazyLibrarian. I know people get really excited about the *arr stack, but Readarr never worked well for ebooks. It was maybe a little better at finding audiobooks, but LL is getting better at that.
Besides a media server, I self host my email, a blog, an IRC bouncer, syncthing, SPFToolbox, and in my house I run ADS-B plane tracking.
I just finished Star Trek: Resurgence on Nintendo Switch. Don’t sleep on this game if you want a well-written classic 90s Trek feeling adventure game! Very Tell Tale like.
The graphics aren’t amazing and quicktime events are occasionally awkward, but the story and choice opportunities make it a lot of fun for some casual playtime!
