Those things caused endless rage and personal attacks.

I opened my first account on .ml. I knew nothing about it and it was not until much later that I knew what ML meant. I joined only because it was the devs’ server and I figured that I could be on the cutting edge. Then began several weeks of angry attacks on random comments until I figured out what was going on and came over to .world.

An example: “Democrats are considered leftist in the US but are really center-right in Europe”. This inflamed the passions of the .ml-ites. You can buy it or not buy it but it won’t have any bearing on reality. Also check out the downvote brigade that came into this thread. That is from y’all. Own your militancy and be proud of it or stop talking to much.

Gen Z might be the only one who can generally recognize just how limited the technology is but are also moving into a world where finding a well-paying job is not a guarantee even for those with experience and training.

As I recall from the time, they were focused more on dial-up options so that you could connect into your work. IE wasn’t even in the first release of Windows 95, it only came into the second release after Netscape did so well.

Agreed. I did the same a few years back and have never regretted it. Every once in a while I will see a comment from someone in .ml and feel a bit surprised.

I got banned in a hard way from a lot of those sub and not on purpose. A simple comment here or there would set off an attack storm from people who sort all comments by new and look for it.

These people are no different than the militant PETA types.
