Are you not from USA? No.
Are you not from USA? No.
Yes, the police go around shooting and abducting people and taking their possessions, but if we didn’t have them we’d have gangs going around shooting and abducting people and taking their possessions.
I feel like we are just a few years away from having to have papers to be alive.
I mean if not having them can already get you sent to a prison camp in a foreign country for life, or if being a citizen of the wrong country can get you killed in your sleep and then the empire will act as if you didn’t ever exist, it really isn’t a stretch.

Cuba is eyeing that straw pretty hard right now.
PBF is one of the funniest strips on the Internet for like 20 years straight.

“We don’t have money to pay teachers more”
“Yes racist untrained Ice agent who will probably get us sued, you can have a 50,000 bonus”
Cops in the USA, as well as being scum, are terrified. The population has almost no access to mental health care, near unlimited access to guns, and many reasons to not trust the police. The police are also trained as “warriors” instead of guardians with a us vs them mentality. I’d imagine besides the legal ramifications, Uk and Eu police are just not as scared shitless and therefore don’t start popping off when an acorn hits their car or a 13 year old has a stick.

There’s laws like you can have bottomless dancers but not alcohol. Or you can have alcohol but then they have to wear pasties. Different laws in different cities and states… Or so I heard.

The basis of most modern day US Republican policies is simply might makes right.
I think the Internet still has lots of promise. We just did a capitalism on it. If we can get the cancer out it’ll be an amazing thing again.
But I do think some of that early promise was overestimated because mostly smart people were on it then. We thought it was the medium, but it was just techies or people with hobbies or interest that made it that special place, now that your average Joe is there it’s mostly shit, but go somewhere with a little barrier to entry (like Lemmy) and it is pretty cool again.
