also available on xmpp at volore@disroot.org if for some reason you want to talk.
but are you also a buff anthro lion?
ah, so the solution is just “don’t have autism”, got it.
well, I have little faith in the current administration being the one responsible for a new breakthrough in the curing of autism (unless that breakthrough is gas chambers), and academia is moving away overseas anyhow now, so I guess that’s not happening.
Instant +10 psychic damage image.
help, when I do this I encounter sociopaths who view this “being nice” as weakness and an invitation to manipulate me; is there a trick to this?
Too light a sentence.
see, me I need white noise to sleep. I absolutely can not fall asleep with voices, music, or other ambient noises in the room (or plugged into my ears) unless I’m completely dead tired, I’ve tried and it has usually resulted in several hours of laying awake.
What I want to know is, is the competition based on output weight? Output length? Smell? Bristol stool scale? What’s the rubric like? Who objectively judges one turd to be better than another and what is their methodology? Did they go to school to be able to determine this, or is this a personal hobby?
fun tricks for anyone who wants to get to sleep quickly: consciously thinking of and trying to relax each of your muscles, from your face, to your shoulders, down your arms and into your fingertips and so on. Sometimes, you might be tensed up in some subtle way without realizing it, and part of falling asleep is getting fully relaxed. Do this in your head a few times if you need to, but this actually does help me fall asleep somewhat more quickly than just laying there and waiting. I remember reading somewhere this was how new sailors in the Navy learned to fall asleep at sea when they weren’t used to a moving bed, but that could’ve been bullshit, feel free to research that yourself.
Another one is, start with your hands flat on your thighs or your stomach (this assumes you sleep on your back, so this one actually isn’t very effective for me) and start tapping your hands down, alternating which hand, lightly on your body at a constant rhythm for a little bit, and then just gradually slow the rhythm down. This didn’t really work well for me because I’m a side sleeper, but YMMV. This was one I got from some TED(x?) talk I’m too lazy to go find.
These might not help if you have like, chronic insomnia or something, but if you just want tomorrow to come faster instead of dwelling on every mistake you’ve ever made for ~20 minutes, they might work for you.

Making one of my friends sit through FLCL when I’d already seen it and they hadn’t was one of the more entertaining experiences I’ve had watching anime, though.
It’s quite something when “alien on a Vespa scooter smacks a kid upside the head with an electric guitar so hard that giant robots start growing out of his forehead” is just the setup, the teaser for a series.

I’ve been watching this shitshow for two and a half and oh boy am I glad I bailed when I did. The last Windows I truly loved was 7 (I’d still use it if I could, but Mint can get close enough for me in terms of look and feel without too much ricing, and, like Win7, things just… work), everything Microsoft has done since has just been a slowly degrading dumpster fire.

I seriously and unironically believe whatever web developer has the gall, the temerity to imply that a news article in plain fucking text is an “Experience™”, and then fuck up loading that plain text, something webpages have been able to do flawlessly since the invention of the web, should be taken out back and shot.

Silly fella forgot he was only supposed to be dead on the inside, working at Walmart.
yeah no “dudette” is an abomination of linguistics and I refuse to entertain it, and anyone who does should be met with derision.
We are all dudes on this blursed world.

and then those wheels are defeated by even a modest lip in the floor, let alone a small curb, and you have to do The Waddle Of Shame.

there are several flavors of justified AI hate and, just as much, there are several legitimate use cases where it is genuinely helpful. Not nearly as many as venture capital seems to think (which is a large part of the reason for the hate), but still.
Like most things in life it is a nuanced topic with no easy, singular true answer, and anyone trying to tell you it has one is usually trying to sell you something.
great, now instead of being distracted by memes I’m remembering the things I don’t like to talk about.
.
This is mostly a joke
