Belka is a barn cat we got 8 years ago. She is missing teeth which means she is probably at least 9 years old.

She is a champion mouser with the highest confirmed kill count than anyone else here.

But she is old. We are trying to ease her into retirement and make her an indoor cat. But we aren’t going to force it. A cat that doesn’t want to stay instead will find ways of making your life miserable. Like peeing on stove burners.

She is going to tell you in subtle ways that she doesn’t want to be picked up. But she is also going to lean into your cuddles and purr in a loving way.

Because we are trying to train her to be an indoor cat we can’t really get angry that she prefers to sleep on our counters.
