Basically you can now manage the download screen of your deck from a PC client. I haven’t gotten to try it yet, but my understanding is that the deck needs to be on for this to work, but it will work if the deck is already in the “screen off downloading updates” state.
Seems useful for their VR headset. Probably so you don’t have to hop into VR to trigger downloads.
Hope they add an option to wake up periodically to check for updates- at least while plugged in
If they managé to start computer while unplugged they need an award
I mean, remote wake has been a thing for a long time
The Steam Deck is pretty easy to start while unplugged.
Good point, I didn’t think about this while writing my joke.
This is a great feature, I will definitely be using it to keep all my PCs up to date on downloads.
More prep software for the steam machine. Valve widens the software gap between steam and anything else. Not only can you remote download to your console, but your pc too.
