'Broken windows' policing was based on the theory that neighborhood disorder led to more serious crimes. But that theory has been entirely debunked, as law professor Bernard Harcourt explains.
The sign needs to remove “broken windows” and then I’d be for it.
Cops cannot and will not fix anything and are a nuisance to have around. They are pests regardless of how they actually allegedly do their jobs. We need community and to put the money that could be saved into things which actually work like community support and more third spaces, not a constant surveillance force that is ready to pounce on us the moment we ‘step out of line’ of what some authoritarian dolt thinks is acceptable.
