    This whole thing was likely spawned from the diseased mind of the despot. I doubt there was much thought put into such things, except maybe as an afterthought.

    But if america does bomb iran to “stone ages”, I dread the grudge it would create. There would be so many people with literally nothing to lose and with clear target for their hate. There are also so many factions that would fund or otherwise suppily that hate with resources.

    Maybe trump thinks there is too little terrorism aimed at america, he is hellbent on making you all suffer afterall.

      This is exactly what is happening, Israel and the US are “mowing the grass” by making Iran into a failed state so it cannot resist Israel’s expansionist and genocidal imperialism. The cherry on top for US warhawks is that this gurantees there will be Iranians who want to commit violence against the US and thus the necessary villain for dumbfuck US rightwing ideology to sustain itself is maintained.

      I dont know, kind of, I think Trump was blocked in some way from escalating by people who understand the responsibility that comes from wielding such powerful weapons providing indirect but substantiative resistance to a run-a-way escalation.

      This doesn’t change my mind that the most cowardly thing Trump could do is fully escalate to nuclear weapons or a forever war, I just think the stupidity of this foreign policy has reached a breaking point of credulity.
