We finally got around to installing our EV charger at work… last week.

I drew up a protective cover which is getting made up and due to arrive… next week.

Guess what happened in between those two points? 😬

Jesus what a cheapass criminal. How much was that? Couple of bucks of copper?

Fine should be 1000x what he would have made off of it.

You guys send in his plate?

If we’re gonna have a surveillance state, we might as well track his plate to the scrapper who’s paying the thieves.

Curious to know if cops in your country (Aus, NZ?) give a shit or not.

Lodged a police report and they were there within the hour! Was crazy the response for such a small dollar crime.

Not that they’ll go after them real hard for this specifically, but it’s a nice bit of ammunition for them if they pick him up for something else. A little 4K video of copper theft on top to make sure something sticks.

They are cheaper for some reasons. And one of them is that they don’t hold high current well. And burn better than copper ones. Also brittle and require higher diameter to carry the same load.
