    Years ago, I was building out a retail shop, and hired a guy to help me do the drywall, and he turned out to be semi-homeless. He did a good job, got paid, and we parted.

    A few months later, he called me because he had a big spool of copper wire, and wondered if I wanted to buy it. I had no use for a spool of copper wire, so I declined the offer, but I appreciated having first dibs.
