Fair point but I’m not sure a rifle really exemplifies it. They’re not exactly a new innovation.
Try LRADs or microwave weapons.
It shows some connection and support that they would buy weapons from an Israeli manufacturer.
Yeah, buying rifles from Israel is less “Israeli technology now being used on Filipinos” and more “Additional support from the government of the Philippines to Israel.”
Israel is also the place where many countries put cyberwarfare money. NSO Group for example.
Unrelated to the actual point being made, that gun really just looks like a dinky pistol with way too many attachments thrown on
It’s a bullpup so the size is deceptive, the barrel length is actually on par with other full size carbines like the US’s M4
Fair enough. Still looks silly imo
The CTAR-21 seems like the cooler variant though. But those Philippines police don’t fuck around, back in 2016 had one pull a shotgun on one of the girls in our tour group who he thought was stealing a phone.
Still an awesome country from my experience, even with the trigger happy police.
Those things suck lol.
Not as bad as IWI’s ARs though lmao, I was recently looking at ~10 of them and every single one had some sloppy mistake, if you buy one strip it completely and reassemble it (which if you can do that why buy a zion-15 in the first place and also yes that is what they named it lmao.)
Yeah I mean it’s terrible, and I hate to support an Israeli arms manufacturer. But at the same time I will never give up my Jericho 941. And from what I hear the AR15’s that IWI produces are exceptional. I mean is there any arms manufacturer that is ethical?
May you take solace in learning that no, the zion-15s (their name not mine lmao) are not actually good. They have some good parts, B5 furniture if that’s your thing (I prefer others but B5 is “good”), one of them comes with a Timney trigger if that’s your thing (tbh I just like a good ol’ milspec schmid), but barrels aren’t CHF nor chrome lined, and their barrel nut is a pain (more of a nitpick but still.)
More importantly every one I have seen came with some sloppy crap from the factory like misaligned flash hiders and buffer tubes and handguards. One flash hider was completely not torqued, just hand tightened. Just sloppy workmanship that speaks to the quality control, mistakes happen but that’s too frequent. Most of the parts themselves are ok but nothing special, and at that price you might as well save up a couple hundred more for something better or build your own.
The Jehricos are good though, especially the older ones, and you already have it there’d be no sense in selling it unless it starts Sigging out.
*looks nervously at our anti-tank rifle factories*
