“Step into a cinematic adventure as Darwin, a brilliant octopus trapped in a mysterious industrial world. Use his unique abilities - swimming, wall-climbing, shooting ink, camouflage, and more - to overcome traps and escape.”

What other games are there like this that you can finish in a few hours?

Oh right, didnt answer the question in my other post.

Little Missfortune is probably the top of my list of short but great games.

Cthulu Saves the World and even shorter, Cthulu Saves Christmas if you want some bite sized JRPG goodness. Breath of Death VII from the same dev is also short.

Im also a sucker for Hidden Object Adventure gsmes which all take 2-4 hours. Artifex Mundi was my favorite dev for those until 2020 when they pivoted to a mobile dev.

Donut County was really addicting and I wish it was longer or had an endless mode so I could keep playing it.

I like the Dread X collection, which was something like 10 small games all bundled into one.

The Hero of the Kingdom series was fun kinda like a puzzle game disguised as an RPG. They made like 6 of them and I wish more existed. (Hah I checking i realize they put up a steam page for thr next one, so that’s great)

Little Kitty Big City if you just wanna be a cat. Even more so for Catlateral Damage if you want to destroy things.

Tiny Terry’s Turbo Trip for some bite sized cute GTA-like action.

Winion Virus if you arent affected by trigger warnings of depression and suicide, its a really great story but pretty messed up.

Actually sad that one’s not longer considering it’s $25. I dont mind a short game, but my rule of thumb is $1 per hour. Thats why I buy SquareEnix RPGs or an open world game at full price but for a game like this I gotta wait for an 80% off sale.

A Short Hike lives up to its name. It is a sandbox platformer about a kid exploring a mountain to try to find the one place with cellphone reception. The story seems a bit shallow at the start, but the ending is quite touching.

I beat it in one morning, while stuck in an endless conference call. I did not 100% all of the mini games or complete all of the side quests, but I did finish the main story and (I think) I explored the whole mountain.

I’ve got a few i really enjoyed. Hypogea is a wonderful platformer, where you play as a robot in a big abandoned underground facility. Nuts is a chill walking sim where you make photos of squirrels (with a twist). I liked the games of cosmo d like off peak and so on. Artsy psychedelic narrations. Threshold is a simple but stressful game. Planet of Lana is a quite relaxing game with a nice story. Dream BBQ also deserves a look. There’s maybe more but this will suffice for now.

I dabbled in the demo for this game. It’s cool.

Mr Shifty is a fun, short game. I’ve played through it multiple times.

Ooh I’ll check that out. I had a go at the Steamworld Build demo a while ago. Maybe I should have another look.

They had some good games. Dig and Dig 2 are metroidvanias. Hiest is a 2D tactics platformer. Build is a town builder. I forget what else they have of the top of my head.

I bought Dig 2 because of your comment. I’m three hours into it and it’s lots of fun! (Edit: Also it’s 90% discounted right now 😁)

My favorite is the deckbuilder, Steamworld: Hand of Gilgamech.
